Las Vegas:

Get ready for a wild ride in Las Vegas! Who says what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas? Not us! We went twice this year, once with my gal pals to catch Taylor Swift's ERA's concert and Miranda Lambert's Velvet Rodeo and a second time with my family. And, let me tell you, Vegas is not just for gamblers anymore; it has something for everyone.

All the best of Las Vegas with the girls and with your fam.

1. Where to stay

If you're unsure where to stay, we recommend selecting hotels closest to the things you want to see and do. We stayed at The Mirage, The Luxor, and The Bellagio. The Mirage was perfect for the family, but it is getting ready to be remodeled. The Luxor and Bellagio are great options for a girl's trip.

2. The shows

There are so many show options in Vegas. When I went in March with my girlfriends, we were there to see concerts. We scored VIP tickets to Taylor Swifts ERAs tour; this was the second show on the tour. It was at Allegiant Stadium. If you are seeing a show at Allegiant Stadium, I would suggest staying near Mandalay Bay. We had to walk across the footbridge to Mandalay Bay and then wait about 2 hours before we could get an Uber. The second night we were there, we saw Miranda Lamberts Velvet Rodeo at Hard Rock Cafe. It was phenomenal. This show was only 90 minutes, so we ate dinner afterwards within the Hard Rock Cafe.

When I was in Las Vegas with the family we choose two shows. We went and saw Cirque Solei Beatles Love show and we saw America's Got Talent Superstars at the Luxor. We loved both of these shows. While the kids had never heard of the Beatles, it did not matter this show was everything. America's Got Talent Superstars consisted of finalists, winners, and fan favorites. It was super fun, the audience even got to try out at the beginning. The judges are not there, but the stars are. Both of these shows were so fun. Go early, get pictures taken on the red carpet and take in the theater goodies. I would recommend seeing both of these shows with your kiddos.

Vegas is the land of endless entertainment! We caught Taylor Swift and Miranda Lambert, and they were out of this world. But when it was fam time, we checked out Cirque Soleil Beatles Love and America's Got Talent Superstars at the Luxor, and boy, were we blown away! Both shows had the little ones in awe, so we highly recommend making them part of your Vegas vacay.

3. Where to eat

Okay for all you healthy eaters. We ate at True Food Kitchen a bunch on both of these trips. I have a bunch of healthy eaters, vegetarians, and people who have dietary restrictions (gluten free, soy free, diary free) and this place hit the spot. The drinks and food are so yummy and freshly sourced. This kitchen is by Dr. Andrew Weil and Oprah and man is it so delicious. We had reservations, but you do not need them. We ate there for almost every meal. It is located inside of the shops at Ceasars right next to the Mirage.

We also ate at the Sugar Factory with the kids, while the kids enjoyed it, I am not sure it was worth the expense. They have some fun things on the menu, but overall, we were not impressed because we are not big sugar eaters. There are a lot of fun picture walls here.

Vegas has tons of food options; so, have your pick.

4. What else should I do when I visit

We did a lot of fun things when we were in Vegas with the girls. We went shopping at Ceasars (I did this on both trips), we went to the Ceasars day spa and used the spa pools and saunas (3 hours for $135) it was heavenly. I would also recommend the EPIC bar crawl with your friends. It was wicked fun, and you skip the lines and get right inside multiple clubs, must be 21 years old.

Go inside the hotels (Arie, Cosmopolitan, Bellagio, Mandalay Bay) and have a drink and shop around, they are all so beautiful inside and there is so much to take in. We also had a glam squad come to the room one day before the Taylor Swift show and I had my hair and makeup done, that was fun and allowed me to sit back and relax while someone glammed me up.

5. Gamble

If you are interested, you can gamble just about everywhere but don't feel like you have to because Vegas has so much to offer. We had someone put $300 on the table for all of us, and it was gone in about 15 minutes.

So, the verdict is in: Las Vegas is totally a place to go with the family and for a girls' trip. Don't take our word for it; check out Expedia for flights and hotels now and get amazing discounts.

A Few Words About Angie and the fam

I get it, I am a busy working mom of two boys and our loving dog Ruby. I have a robust career as academic and clinician and my day job can be stressful, as I work tirelessly to fight against the opioid epidemic and train providers to do addiction and mental health work. I am not here to talk to you about that.

I LOVE TO TRAVEL. Each year my hubs and I sit down and map out our use of our PTO and our budget and then we put our plan in play. It includes family trips, couples' trips, solo trips, concerts, girls' trips. This is my medicine.

This blog is about that, my joy of traveling. It includes #affiliatelinks and I get commission from these links. I hope you enjoy what I share, and you are able to make your own travel joys come true.
